What’s a paper jam?

The term paper jam refers to the circumstance in which the paper in your Canon printer becomes jammed, preventing the printer from continuing to print. It’s possible that the paper was ripped because it was fed into the printer at an angle. It’s also possible that the paper used wasn’t suitable for the job.

When you use paper that is either too thin or too thick, it might be difficult for your printer to guide the paper through, which can cause it to get jammed. It is possible for the paper to get jammed on either the input side of the printer, the output side of the printer, or in the center.

Fix;

Step 1; Turn off the printer devices, and then unplug the power cord.

Step 2; Stand the printer with the right side facing down.

Note:

  • When you stand the printer devices, confirm that the document cover is closed.
  • ​Stand the printer on a wide, flat surface such as a desk.
  • When you stand the printer, hold it securely and be carefuls not to hit it on a hard object.

Step 3; You can “Push” the open lever to open the transport unit.​

Step 4; Slowly pull out the jammed paper, and Support the printer with your hand so it doesn’t fall down.

  • If the paper is rolled up and difficult to removing, you can find paper edges, grasp them with both hands, and slowly pull out the paper so it doesn’t tear.
  • If the paper is wrapped up and difficult to remove, you may locate the edges of the paper, grip them with both hands. Then return the printer to its original position, and remove the paper from inside the printer.

Step 5; Next – Close the transport unit.

Pull the paper out of the jam very carefully. Maintain a firm grip on the printer with one hand to prevent it from toppling over.

If the paper is rolled up and difficult to remove, find paper’s edges, grasp them with both hands, and slowly pull out the paper so it doesn’t tear.

If you can’t remove the jammed paper, close the transport unit. Then return the printer to its original position and remove the paper from inside the printer.

Step 6; You can turn “ON” the printer devices. All print jobs in the queue are cancel. Reprint if necessary.

However advanced your printer devices, one piece of wrinkled papers can grind it to a halt.

If you can’t find the error jammed and the printer still not work after the paper is removing, consult your owner’s manual or an expert repairman.
